Trying again, 2010...
Ok, here goes nothing. I actually have an idea inspired, in part, by a crappy sci-fi novel I was reading.....

Day 1 of NaNoWriMo
Ok eep. What have I signed myself up for?
Here's a loose idea of the plot I think I want to write... I've always liked retellings of the ancient Gods, Zeus, Hera, Aphrodite, etc. I loved Xena and Hercules, mainly because of the gods, they had created them so well, in a modern recreation of what they would have been like to the Ancients. I also loved Gaiman's American Gods.
The Gods still exist in mortal form. They have avatars they are born into, who display some of their characteristics, but who are unaware they carry the soul of a god. These avatars are normal people until/unless their avatars are awakened. (I'm thinking that there will be one or two objects that somehow have to awaken these gods). One person bcmes awakened, (not sure which one yet, and has to awaken the other gods, a quest)
Why does he/she have to awaken the others? There is a danger to the earth, the cosmos is out of balance... and it will take the power of the gods to right it.
